Oxidized Starch

Native starch is treated with variety of oxidizing agents and oxidized starches are obtained. It has shorter chain lengths than native starches, the hydrogen bonding reduces the tendency to retro-gradation, helps improving whiteness and reduces microbiological contents.

Oxidized starch are used surface sizing for paper industry, lamination, paper adhesive building materials and for wrap sizing in textile industry, transparent confectionary products and canned soups. Oxidized starch are almost insoluble in cold water, appears white & bright in colour.
